Crate Training
Crate Training is a form of travel home for a dog. They feel comfortable in their own crate as they have their own space for when they feel the need to retire. It provides security for the dog, privacy and a sense of being at home. It has to be the owner's own crate, otherwise it will lose that sense of private territory, which is important in the pack pet culture. Both dogs and cats often seek small spaces to curl up and in a strange environment, they may accidentally take the space that belongs to another animal, which then introduces pack order hierarchy. Crate travel is very kind to the animal and helps reduce potential anxiety or stress.
