DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Once closing the Front Door, anything that threatens the safety and security to the harmony of Family Life, we consider domestic violence of a kind. This need not come from within the family circles, but equally one can become a victim of Domestic Violence through the actions and behaviour when the perpetrator happens to be an ex-partner, an auntie or uncle, a good friend, a neighbour or anyone responsible for intimidating the coordinated lifestyle and comfort of another.

Domestic Violence is found at all levels of the social scale and in particular the added interference by a third party, varying from a partner, to a parent, a sibling and/or close friend.

Variations in Domestic Violence:

  1. Physical
  2. Mental
  3. Neglect or Lack of Care
  4. Sexual intimidation
  5. Inequality
  6. Financial exploitation
  7. Competitive Capitalistic Power Control through Structural Force

Structural Force is created by Society and its overwhelming violence is anchored from within the Law of our Social Environment. Economically, Politically, Culturally and religiously, creating a hierarchy which provides individual power over others, which affects all marginalised individuals, whether male or female as well as animals and plants to a degree, those usually referred to as ‘the little people’ who invariably do not share the same platform of Superior Power.

Statistics prove that as a general rule at least 25% of the human population suffer from some form of Domestic Violence, every day, of which 80% is caused by men. Mental, physical and sexual Domestic Violence usually are jointly combined and arise from a highly intricate and complex relationship of which the real cause can be found deep from within the family circle. Often evolving into a vicious cycle when the victim has no independence. Social Cultures provide social protocol and peer pressure, which makes it impossible for damaged victims to have the opportunity to evaluate their circumstances and thus escape safely from danger. Once the victim’s rational thought down spirals, logical balanced thinking is affected and dysfunctional visions replace all levels of self-esteem, including confidence and creativity, into an endless journey of confusion, stress, acute abuse followed by feelings of remorse, guilt and regret. Leaving the victim paralysed and powerless, unable to recognise their own sense of loss, lack of self worth, being belittled and left without contact from friends and family.

Finding these patterns in human society is a shocking awakening in itself, what of the world of animals and the unseen suffering they experience moment to moment as they are unable to have a voice that can be heard.

Animals are subjected to the invisible power struggle of the internal war within the human psyche and often dysfunctional mind. The male mind has established the quality of challenging helplessness, whereas the woman, through the centuries were the second class citizens and in some cultures still are suppressed, forced to show less capable independent skills, due to her social emotional responsibilities as a mother and a wife.

In a changing world ethnically, religiously and culturally, the victim cycle has provided opportunities which gave birth to individual survival techniques, nationwide support network systems, after care, humanitarian social support groups, specific purpose shelters, police protection, which enable greater awareness of the afflicted and a brighter vision for the future.

Motivation for the subject:

To touch the hearts with a substance which should provide a more profound insight and greater knowledge to activate results which satisfies ‘after care’ to those victims who suffered abuse. After care provides Independence through obtaining and regaining self-confidence, self-respect and self-image.

This independence can be accomplished in the PetWorld through good behaviour and reward training. Discipline can be achieved by bullying but this is not a positive way forward. Discipline can be accomplished through fun activities that include learning skills and techniques to help improve personal growth.

In a protected environment one needs to realise that pets do not like people shouting, whether at one another, or towards the animal. Shouting to a dog represents a form of intimidation. On the other side of the scale, pets do not like silence either, for it makes them feel rejected and abandoned. It is best, when going away, to leave the radio on, or where appropriate a television.

The cycle of human Domestic Violence in many ways affects an animal surrounded by love. Imagine the affects of cruelty to an animal that is confused and hungry? Suffers physical abuse, not necessarily by its owner, but also by friends, family or neighbours. The most passive animal is affected by the sound of fireworks or other irregular noise disturbance.

When it is hard for humans to express their pain, imagine what it is like for any animal, neglected or otherwise.
