Support For Africa - White Sheets Appeal

Forgive me if you have received this more than once, a very large file was sent out in my absent for which I apologise.

Dear Friends

Re SUPPORT FOR AFRICA registration number 1085282

Please take a look at the email below. It's from Christine who, through the surgery she works for in Sandhurst, has donated a few medical equipment to Support For Africa clinics in the past few months, and Virgin Atlantic Airways have sponsored the freight/cargo for the charity. I wrote to Christine asking for second hand sheets and she came up with this idea of getting her colleagues to help sponsor a sheet.

As Christmas is round the corner I know we are all going to be inundated with requests, and I feel bad about asking but have to, a lot of you know that we are all unpaid volunteers in Support for Africa.

Would you consider sponsoring a white bed sheet at no more than £5 per person, for our clinics in Africa. This will be a great Christmas gift for our clinics.

If you wish to sponsor a sheet please make your cheque payable to Support For Africa and sent to PO BOX 3218, GERRARDS CROSS, BUCKS, SL9 7WY.

Please encourage your friends and business associates to consider our “White Sheets Appeal”.

Thank you for your support and I wish you all a joyful Christmas season.

Love

Patti

Subject: White sheets

Dear Patti

I am sending you attached price list so you can look at the two types of white sheets this company sells.  Laundry quality £3.31. (which they normally sell to hotels) and hospital quality £3.82  The difference is weight so presume hospital last longer.  These prices do not include VAT.

I hope you can read it by zooming in.  My partner is not around to help me at the moment, so the fact that I have been able to even scan it is a triumph in itself.

I have spoken to the company  who say we can buy at these health service prices.  Any idea how many would help the clinics and which ones would you like?  They have a delivery charge of £15 for orders under £500 but would hope to ask them to wave that for the charity.  Also they ask for payment before goods are dispatched.  I think these are good prices and would hope that people would be able to dip into their pocket to buy one.

There is a lot of fundraising for Breast Cancer Awareness at present at work so I feel it may be better to wait until this is over before I ask work colleagues to help.

I did ask a local BUPA Hospital for any donations but they didn't even reply to my e mail.  Also Andrew tried a local Laundry who may be able to help in the future.

I'm sorry to hear of your family bereavements.

Best wishes

Christine
